BRAND NEW ARTIST RAIN WAN RELEASES HER DEBUT SINGLE, “cut me skin deep” AND HERE’S WHY SHE WROTE IT
10TH SEPTEMBER 2021 - Brand new singer/songwriter, Rain Wan releases her first debut single “cut me skin deep” today - available to stream and download now.
“cut me skin deep" is a heart-felt contemporary pop single, with Rain’s vocals drawing you into the rawness of her emotions due to being knocked down by the judgemental words of others - turning into her “inner demons”. Teaming up with Adam Rust (Becky Hill, Sigala, JP Cooper), who co-wrote and produced the single - giving an open and supportive space, allowing Rain to tap into her deepest emotions. The track was finally brought together by Aamir Yaqub (Grammy Award Winning engineer through Rihanna’s ‘Unapologetic’ album).
“I love expressing my feelings through writing songs. Not only is it my therapy but I do it in hopes that it can help those who can relate with their life journeys too. Through self doubt and being knocked down by the words of others "cut me skin deep" was born. Writing this song was my way of letting out how I truly felt at the time. There is something really magical about sitting in front of a piano and being able to freely write and clear my head of thoughts.”
“The message I want to share with this song is that yes, words of others can hurt and yes it’s sometimes super hard to ignore it. But, what’s most important is what we tell ourselves. At the end of the day, someone can say all they want but what’s most powerful is us creating who we believe we are.”
